Barbara Ann Corcora

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. To date she has appeared on every season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she had signed 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who was drunk often and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic primary school within her community and started the high school year in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was a failure in several courses in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
